What is Passkey?

A passkey replaces your password with a cryptographic key stored on your device, unlocked by fingerprint or face. There's nothing to remember, nothing to type, and nothing phishable — a fake site simply can't use it.

Google, Apple, Microsoft and most big platforms now offer them: look for "Passkeys" in account security settings. Passkeys sync via iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager, so a new phone brings them along.
