What is Emergency SOS?

Emergency SOS calls local emergency services when you press and hold the side button and a volume button (or press the side button five times, depending on settings), then texts your emergency contacts with your location.

Configure it under Settings → Emergency SOS, and fill in your Medical ID in the Health app — first responders can see it from the lock screen. Newer iPhones add satellite SOS when you're off-grid.
