What is Vanish Mode?

Vanish mode (Instagram/Messenger) makes messages disappear from the chat after they're seen and the chat is closed — WhatsApp's equivalent is per-chat disappearing messages on a timer.

It reduces the record a conversation leaves, but it can't stop screenshots (though some apps notify you). Treat it as tidiness, not secrecy.
