What is OLED?

OLED screens light each pixel individually and can switch pixels fully off, producing perfect blacks and infinite contrast — the picture-quality benchmark for films in dark rooms.

Trade-offs versus premium LED (QLED/Mini-LED): lower peak brightness in sunlit rooms and a small long-term risk of image retention with static content. For settings menus: OLEDs benefit most from Filmmaker Mode and pixel-refresh maintenance options.
